Terms and Conditions of Rental Services
Signing in
- You are required to sign in and out. When signing in, you are requested to produce your personal identification documents and make payment for the kayak rental
- You should declare your kayaking proficiency and produce the necessary certification, if any (eg. Personal Skill Kayaking Award etc certified by SCF or its affiliates) .
Safety requirements
- For safety reasons, a minimum of two rental kayaks must be on water at any one time. This is only applicable to the rental of the Single Seater (Type 2) Recreational Kayak.
- You must know how to swim at least 50m with the aid of a Personal Flotation Device (PFD). You should be physically fit to participate in this activity. You should declare if you are under any medication or have any medical condition before renting the kayaks. You will have to sign an indemnity form before signing out the kayak.
- If you meet the required level of kayaking proficiency (at least 1-Star certification), you can paddle at both the light blue and green zones. Otherwise, you can paddle at the green zone only.
- Kayakers are to keep clear of the race course in the event of a race or training .
- Please note that kayakers are not allowed to stop or rest at the No Stopping Zone .
- Kayakers must exercise caution and look out for other approaching kayaks before crossing the No Stopping Zone . Please give way to racing kayaks approaching the No Stopping Zone .
- If you do not feel well, you should stop all paddling activities and seek medical attention immediately.
- You must be above the age of 18 to paddle without supervision. If you are under the age of 18, you must paddle only under adult supervision. Children under the age of 12 are to be accompanied by their parent(s) / guardian(s) at all times while in the waters. Infants-in-arms are not allowed on water.
- You must put on the Personal Floatation Device or life jackets at all times while in the waters.
- Overloading of kayaks beyond the design capacity is prohibited.
- During bad weather conditions, an air horn will sound to recall all kayakers. On hearing this signal, please paddle back to the launch / return area and return all rental equipment to the Paddle Lodge.
- There will be no refunds during bad weather conditions.
