As part
of the continuous effort in grooming potential national canoeists, Singapore
Canoe Federation will be conducting a a national squad selection time
trial to select the a team of senior and junior paddlers to prepare
for a number of overseas competitions.
Below
are the details of the time trials:
1)
Must
be a Singapore citizen
2)
At
least a top three position in any of the national/ international
canoeing competitions between year 2008 to present.
3)
Qualifying Timings
(K1 500m)
Core Status
(Max of 4 paddlers to be selected in each category)
Merit Status
(Max of 4 paddlers to be selected in each category)
Junior Men
<= 1.55 min
<= 1.58 min
Senior Men
<= 1.51 min
<= 1.55 min
Junior Women
<= 2.20 min
<= 2.250 min
Senior Women
<= 2.10 min
<= 2.15 min
4)
A Junior paddler
is classified as 15 to 18 years old in 2009
5)
Tthe completed time
trial application form (download here) needed to be submitted
at least 1 week before the time trial on 8th Feb 2009 BY
HAND to:
Participants
are expected to provide own equipment for the time trial.
7)
The
selected paddlers at the end of each time trial are part of the
national squad. They are expected to fulfill the duties and responsibilities
as a national squad member.
